So Pumped!
I used a roll of black and white film during our honeymoon at the Hotel Del Coronado...but I didn't develop it when we got back. As far as I know, Costco doesn't do B&W, so I was going to take it back to the camera store where I bought it from. Alas, I never did. And then we moved. The film got packed. Since we are packing again, I came across the questionable roll. Because it wasn't rewound all the way, I wasn't sure if it was an unused roll or THE roll.

I dropped it off at a local camera store on friday. And today I found out I have pictures on it! I get to pick up the prints on thursday. Hence the title, SO PUMPED!!!

Coronado is so beautiful. If you've never been there, I highly recommend a visit. Or you can drop by our house, because I will be framing some of them.

And Tara, no, they are not "those" kind of honeymoon pictures.

Ikea
I knew Ikea would be insanely busy today but I went anyway. It wasn't unbearable, but I still can't figure out what people are thinking when they have both a cart and a stroller and they still have the nerve to walk against the flow of traffic. Ikea puts these arrows on the floor so everyone knows the direction they are supposed to go...it's not too hard to figure out.

Good news: I found some roman shades for our bedroom that are really nice. and cheap!

We did some packing today. Our place is officially in disarray. But that's OK because in less than 3 weeks we can move our crap into OUR HOUSE!!!!!!!!!

Paint Chips Galore
So i'm in the process of picking out paint colors. Sounds easy enough...right? wrong! So what I would like our bedroom wall to look like is this:

ahhh a peaceful blue gray.

I've been to Home Depot, Lowes, Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. Multiple times. I pick out the little chips I like and bring them home. I cut them out and tape them to the wall above our bed. Some look the same to me. Some I can't decide if I like or hate them. I can't decide how dark or light I want to pick. I am convinced that the paint from the can will look much different from the chip so my choices won't matter much anyway.

Too gray....too blue...too dark...too light. I can barely match my clothes. It's obvious my gift was not in the home decor department. I'm okay with that. As long as the paint store is okay with me coming back again and again for little jars of paint samples.

I have a new project at work tweaking some plasmids. Aside from fun with DNA, we're finishing up house paperwork and working out anniversary plans. We have a lot going on during that general time so we'll see how it all turns out. At least it's all good stuff going on. I'll juggle good stuff any day!

Tara, you biatch, when are you going to send me some german love?

Weekend Update
Not much going on here. The appraisal came back right on target. It looks like everything is going to go through without a hitch. I'm pleasantly surprised at how smooth this whole homebuying process has been.

I've been picking out some paint colors/curtains and deciding what "little" things I want to change right away. We also need to get some appliances. I'm dreading packing but I can't wait to move!

More house pics
We had our inspection today. It went very well - no surprises. I had a chance to take some interior pics. All the stuff belongs to the sellers.

My new super sexy kitchen. Check out that light fixture!!

Dining area. The fireplace is a 2-way. Other side is on the living room.

Speak of the devil! The living room!! Very cool built in shelves.

Master bedroom. View to pool/backyard. Nice allergy-friendly tile!

The Infamous Pink Room. Pink Carpet, Pink Blinds. Tres Sexy!

Announcement!!!!!!!
We bought a house!

It closes June 15, just in time for our anniversary!

3bd, 2ba, tile throughout (except 1 bedroom and part of living room), POOL and above-ground spa. We fell in love with the HUGE yard, shade trees and quiet neighborhood. I'm still mentally freaking out a little bit but we can't wait to move!

I forgot
I forgot to mention that during our Colorado trip we rented a car. In doing so, we solidified our stance on how American cars are crappy pieces of junk. PIECE OF JUNK Chrysler/Dodge!!!! What a waste of sheet metal. The Big 3 are doing a big disservice to cars and car lovers alike.

I have something else to add but I'm not ready to blab yet. I'll keep you posted.

Colorado
We just got back from a long weekend in Colorado. My little brother Dave was graduating from college on Sunday.

The air was nice and clean but COLD. The water was pleasantly drinkable! We got to see my brother's bachelor pad and all that good stuff. That's about it.

We're still on the hunt for our house. The smoky pet-grave-in-the-backyard house dropped their price quite a bit but no matter how cheap it just isn't the "right" house. So for now, we wait. Summer is on its way and the forecast for tomorrow is sunny / 101 degrees. I love summer!!

#3
We walked through house #3 today. I didn't like the kitchen. There were other issues too. The Yard was really great and the rooms were big. It had a lot of "potential," which in housing terms, loosely translates to "money pit." On to #4!
